Paddy Considine Becomes First Actual European In "The Bourne Ultimatum" Cast

Doesn’t it seem like there are an awful lot of Americans in Jason Bourne’s European travels these days? Yeah, I know, it’s the whole former CIA secret assassin operation thing, but still…that’s why it’s nice to know that Paddy Considine — a real live Brit — has joined the cast of "The Bourne Ultimatum," the upcoming third installment of Matt Damon‘s starring franchise.

Considine ("24 Hour Party People," "In America," and that one Coldplay music video) joins the now-filming production as "a London journalist tracking a former CIA director," according to Variety. The previously confirmed castmembers include returners Damon, Julia Stiles, and Joan Allen as well as last year’s Oscar nominee for Best Actor, David Strathairn.

Paul Greengrass, who directed 2004’s "The Bourne Supremacy," is also back at the helm. Early guessers speculated that the script for "Ultimatum," like that of "Supremacy," would not closely follow the books by source writer Robert Ludlum.

"The Bourne Ultimatum" is scheduled for release August 3, 2007.
