My very first DVD player came with a free DVD: That "Lost in Space" flick with William Hurt, Heather Graham, and Matt LeBlanc. I gave the movie a spin, found myself strangely entertained by it (albeit not overwhelmingly so), and then promptly forgot all about it. But someone out there wants a few sequels already.
From Mania.com (and it’s a user-submitted "scoop," so feel free to take it with a grain of salt): "What he (producer Mark Koch) would like to do, he said, is relaunch "Lost in Space" as a series of direct to video sequels – he mentioned the "Babylon 5" films as a good example – but still link it to the first movie, because regardless of what people thought of it, it still has its fans. He also said he likes Matt LeBlanc, and they discussed the possibility recently. He’s apparently keen to play Don West again. He also said that there was talk of a new TV series at one stage, but he wouldn’t of been involved."

Anyone out there see William Hurt signing on for a DTV sequel to "Lost in Space"? Well, I guess stranger things have happened. He was in that "Dune" cable flick.
