Boston boys Matt Damon and Mark Wahlberg are set to head back to Massachussetts to make "The Fighter," a Paramount sports drama about brothers, drug abuse and (you guessed it) boxing.
According to Variety, Mr. Wahlberg and Mr. Damon have been discussing the project for quite some time now, and if the most recent draft by Paul Attanasio is up to snuff, then production on "The Fighter" could begin as early as this summer. (Previous writers on this project include Lewis Colick, Eric Johnson and Paul Tamasy.
Obviously this is not the first time Damon and Wahlberg have worked together; they were both in Martin Scorsese’s "The Departed," with Mark earning himself an Oscar nod for his efforts. Wahlberg’s next release is "Shooter," while Damon’s are summer sequels "Ocean’s Thirteen" and "The Bourne Ultimatum."
