Rogue/Focus/Universal has acquired the movie rights to Chris Kirby’s acclaimed comic book series "Lost Squad," which will be turned into a movie about soldiers vs. undead Nazi monsters. Cool!

From Variety: ""Lost Squad" chronicles the adventures of a ragtag unit of Allied soldiers who fight Hitler’s occult agents and other supernatural threats during WWII.

Devil’s Due Publishing began the series — illustrated by Alan Robinson — last fall and has published five issues … Project is the second (producers Adrien) Askarieh and (Daniel) Alter have in development at Rogue, the genre arm of Universal-based Focus Features. Earlier this year, the duo set up "Hack/Slash," based on a Devil’s Due comic about a woman who hunts down slashers; writer-director Todd Lincoln is attached."

Sounds like "Hellboy" meets "The Dirty Dozen," which also sounds pretty awesome.
