Did you know that a bunch of 7-11 stores had been recently retrofitted to look exactly like Apu Nahasapemapetilon’s Kwik-E-Mart? True. And if you don’t know who Apu is, I assume you’re not all that interested in "The Simpsons Movie" or its elaborate promotional gimmicks.
Click right here to see one guy’s snapshots of his local Kwik-E-Mart. Yes, it’s there you’ll find Duff Beer, Krusty-O’s cereal, Slushees, and an ATM from the Bank of Springfield. Pretty amusing stuff, provided you’re a massive "Simpsons" nerd like I so definitely am.
Apparently a dozen 7-11 stores across the country have been given Kwik-E-Mart facelifts in an attempt to hype the inevitably funny "Simpsons Movie," which hits theaters on July 27th. And after a summer filled with mega-action and ultra-crazy mayhem, I’m definitely looking forward to sitting back with the Springfield citizens for 90-some minutes.
I’ll steal just one pic from our source’s photo album, but for the rest you’ll have to click right here. For more on this rather unique movie promotion, check out the discussion at NoHomers.net — which is the best "Simpsons" fansite aside from SNPP, which is an awesome information bank.
