Get Ready for the "Wedding Olympics"

Newcomer screenwriters Erica Rothschild & Bronwyn Garrity have sold their romantic comedy pitch "Wedding Olympics" to Robert Cort Productions, but the true-life story is a lot more interesting than the boardroom deals.

Variety untangles the story a lot more clearly than I could: "Tale’s based on the concept behind Garrity’s upcoming real-life wedding, during which the families of the bride and groom will compete in a variety of physical and mental games to determine which last name the couple will take. Garrity and Rothschild have been best friends since junior high school, and Garrity was Rothschild’s maid of honor last summer. Rothschild will be Garrity’s matron of honor at the upcoming wedding."

Too bad the bride and groom didn’t opt to go the documentary route for their wedding; now there’s a movie I’d really want to see!
