E.L. Doctorow’s "Jolene" Nabs Sutherland, Richards, Mulroney and Vartan
Director Dan Ireland ("Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont," "The Whole Wide World") has added four new castmembers to "Jolene," and who better to pop up in a teenage girl’s decade-long, cross-country search for happiness than Donald Sutherland, Denise Richards, Dermot Mulroney and (sigh) Michael Vartan?
"Jolene," based on a short story in E.L. Doctorow‘s "Sweet Land Stories," follows the disaster-prone life of a young woman as she travels across the country for ten years. Appearing in the title role will be newcomer Jessica Chastain; Brit actor Rupert Friend, Theresa Russell, and B-movie queen Shannon Whirry are on hand to add even more variety to the film’s supporting cast.
