It’s difficult to overstate the influence of Disney’s animated feature films on cinema. Not only did Uncle Walt’s works transform the concept of family entertainment forever, his company’s visionary, exuberant, and sometimes haunting films have left an indelible stamp on moviegoers’ consciences. Now, with the release of Alice in Wonderland on Blu-ray on the horizon, we at RT are ranking every single Walt Disney Animation Studios feature film.
Before you enter this magical kingdom, some ground rules and bare necessities: We used a weighted formula that accounts for the Tomatometer, number of reviews, and release year of each Disney animated film. And we were purists on this one: no films from Pixar, Studio Ghibli, or DisneyToon Studios.
