One of 2009’s most controversial films is back in the blogosphere again, thanks to some magnificent new key art created for the film’s forthcoming Australian release. Lars von Trier’s Antichrist both divided critics and won lead Charlotte Gainsbourg the Best Actress prize at Cannes earlier this year — a performance which included a particularly grisly, anatomy-slicing moment that the new poster alludes to rather splendidly.

Still awaiting official approval from von Trier himself (who may be busy working on the movie’s unlikely video game adaptation), the poster was designed by prolific Australian-based artist Jeremy Saunders. You can peruse more of his fine work at his website, which is here.

Antichrist opens in limited release in the US on October 23.
