CINEMACON 2026 – DAY 1: Paddington, Pippi Longstocking, Trainspotting Re-Release, and More

CinemaCon 2026 is finally upon us, and we’re gearing up for the big reveals and special surprises that await us during all of the studio presentations. RT is on the ground in Las Vegas, and so far, there’s been a lot to talk about. Day one kicked off with presentations from Angel Studios, Sony Pictures Classics, and StudioCanal, with Angel Studios going first. Angel Studios Shares Exclusive Upcoming Titles

Angel Studios kicked off the event, announcing several upcoming titles, including a remake of the John Wayne classic, Angel and the Badman, which is set to premiere this October. The studio announced it will be exploring a new genre: an action-packed thriller called Runner, coming September 11. The John Wick-esque film is set to star Alan Ritchson and Owen Wilson. During the presentation, the studio also revealed to audiences the first trailer for The Brink of War, starring Jeff Daniels, Jared Harris, and JK Simmons.

Sony Pictures Classics Announces New Film in Production, Special Anniversary Re-Release

Sony Pictures Classics was up next and revealed several films coming this year, including Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass in July and Bedford Park in September. And they were thrilled to announce a couple of re-releases dropping this Summer: Trainspotting on June 5, in celebration of the film’s 30th anniversary, and The Piano on July 2. The studio also shared with audiences that Spotlight director Tom McCarthy’s next movie is currently in production, with filming set to start next month. The untitled movie will star Paul Rudd, Evan Peters, Amy Ryan, and Paul Giamatti.

StudioCanal: Paddington 4, Pippi Longstocking Movie, and More to Come

StudioCanal closed out day one, announcing to audiences that they can expect a fourth movie for one of our favorite on-screen bears. The studio also revealed that a Pippi Longstocking movie is in the works, and the crowd burst into laughter when they announced the premiere of Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Motty Bottom on September 18. Included in this announcement were a slew of re-releases: Cliffhanger, John Carpenter’s Escape From New York, The Howling, and Terminator 2 for the film’s 35th anniversary.

The studio closed out the presentation by sharing a few 2027 titles, including Everybody Wants To F*ck Me, for which audiences got to preview an exclusive clip; The Custom of the Country, a 2027 movie starring Sydney Sweeney; Fonda, a follow-up to Anatomy of a Fall; and the recently-wrapped Elsinore.


CinemaCon 2026 runs from Sunday, April 12 to Thursday, April 16, with studio presentations taking place on Monday through Thursday. Here’s what the schedule currently looks like:
