We already knew that Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg were planning a series of three movies based on the ‘Tintin’ stories, and now it seems the bearded duo have sorted out their directorial workload for the trilogy.
Spielberg – whilst discussing Indy IV at Cannes this week – told The Dominion Post; “We are going to make three Tintin movies back-to-back. I’ll direct the first one, Peter will direct the second one. We’ll probably co-direct the third one.”
Aparently those involved are still not willing to spill the beans on what Tintin books will be filmed — (though we’re hoping ‘Tintin in Tibet’ is among them — if only for the yeti) — but filming on the first instalment will get going this September. Meanwhile Last Legion scamp Thomas Sangster will play the titular reporter from Belgium.
A film jointly directed by Spielberg and Jackson? Sounds awesome to us, what do you think?
