Academy Award winner Brie Larson is taking a break from her dramatic work in Elektra at London’s West End to join the Mushroom Kingdom as Rosalina in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, the sequel to the smash hit The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Rosalina first debuted in the original video game, Super Mario Galaxy, and has since become a staple in the Super Mario Bros. franchise. In this episode, Larson talks about being a lifelong fan of video games, having fun with the cast, and what fans can expect in the highly anticipated sequel.

“The gaming community is much bigger than the film and television world,” Larson tells ‘Seen on the Screen’ Host and RT Awards Editor Jacqueline Coley. “There’s so much that video games are taking from cinema, I think it’s time for us in cinema to recognize what we can take from video games.”

Check out the full episode above, where Larson also reflects on the universal message of the Super Mario Bros. franchise, plays a game of ‘guess that quote’, and expresses her love for David Fincher’s The Game.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie hits theaters April 1st. Buy tickets now on Fandango.
