TAGGED AS: Awards
The 31st Screen Actors Guild Awards nominees were announced early this morning via press release after high winds and raging wildfires in Los Angeles canceled the in-person presentation late Tuesday night. The nominations were originally set to be announced by Cooper Koch (Monsters: The Lyle and Eric Menendez Story) and Joey King (The Act).
Despite the extreme weather, awards season seems to march on and surprise us. Wicked led film nominations, which was expected, but a surprise nom by Jonathan Bailey truly marks how popular the Broadway adaption is with the SAG voters. Equally surprising, Pamela Anderson managed a nomination over Nicole Kidman in Babygirl and Angelina Jolie in Maria. Demi Moore has all but guaranteed an Oscar nomination with a decisive nom today after her impressive win at the Golden Globes Sunday. On the TV side, there were mostly as expected, with Shōgun leading the pack with five nominations.
