It has been 15 years since the last installment of the Meet the Parents franchise of comedies opened, but Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro are set to reprise their roles as Greg Focker and his contentious father-in-law in Meet the Parents 4, due out in 2026.

Today, it was announced that pop superstar Ariana Grande, who just scored an Oscar nomination for her work in last year’s Wicked, will be joining Stiller and De Niro in the new film. Although the story and new characters have yet to be officially revealed, it’s rumored that Grande will play the unpleasant fiancée of Greg Focker’s son.

Speaking of which, Teri Polo and Blythe Danner, who previously played the wives of Ben Stiller’s and Robert De Niro’s characters, respectively, are expected to return as well, though they haven’t officially joined the cast yet.

For those unfamiliar, the original Meet the Parents revolved around Teri Polo’s character Pam Byrnes introducing her soon-to-be fiancé Greg Focker (Stiller) to her parents, one of whom (De Niro) is an ex-CIA counterintelligence officer who immediately dislikes Greg and challenges him at every opportunity. The new film appears to place Stiller in De Niro’s position, facing off against Grande’s character.

Notably, the third film, Little Fockers, ended with both Greg and Pam’s parents planning to move to their neighborhood to be closer to their grandchildren, so we may also get appearances from Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand, who played Greg Focker’s parents.

Meet the Parents 4 has been slated to release on November 26, 2026, and it will be directed by John Hamburg, who co-wrote the three previous films in the franchise.
