Wolverine Spinoff Has a Screenwriter...and Maybe a Director

Cinescape shares a compelling little scoop regarding "Wolverine" — the inevitable spinoff tailor-made for everyone’s favorite member of the "X-Men". Fox recently hired screenwriter David Benioff ("25th Hour", "Troy") to pen the razor-knuckled manwolf’s first solo adventure. But C.A. has even more news than that: "We’ve heard from a trustworthy source that "Underworld" director Len Wiseman has been approached about directing the Wolverine movie." Mr. Wiseman, along with his willowy wife/leading lady Kate Beckinsale, is currently in Prague shooting "Underworld 2", which is scheduled to wrap in late March. Whether or not Wiseman will sign on for "Wolverine" remains to be seen, but he’d probably be nuts to say no.
