Well wishes go to America’s favorite critic, Roger Ebert, who posted his first message in months following his cancer surgery in June. Ebert writes from rehab, where he’s slowly but surely regaining his thumb-flicking strength, and assures his return by Oscar time.
The celebrated scribe writes very candidly here, on his official site, of the complications that delayed his recovery this summer from throat surgery. Fortunately, he says he’s gotten through his medical rough patch and fully immersed in rehabilitation, with the intention of returning to his full schedule by early next year.
In the meantime, he’ll write the occassional review (such as this week’s critique of "The Queen," reviewed on DVD) and plans to resume his post covering the next Academy Awards and Cannes Film Festival.
Here’s to a speedy recovery, Roger!
