National Society of Film Critics Award Winners Announced: Moonlight Wins Best Picture

Manchester by the Sea takes home two of the top acting awards, but Moonlight rules the day.

On Saturday, January 7, the National Society of Film Critics announced the recipients of their annual awards. While Manchester by the Sea took home two of the top acting honors, it was Moonlight that earned Best Picture and won the most awards. Read on for the full list.

Best Actor: Casey Affleck, Manchester by the Sea (2016) 96%

Best Actress: Isabelle Huppert, Elle (2016) 91%

Best Supporting Actor: Mahershala Ali, Moonlight (2016) 98%

Best Supporting Actress: Michelle Williams, Manchester by the Sea (2016) 96%

Best Director: Barry Jenkins, Moonlight (2016) 98%

Best Screenplay: Kenneth Lonergan, Manchester by the Sea (2016) 96%

Best Cinematography: James Laxton, Moonlight (2016) 98%

Foreign Language Film: Toni Erdmann (2016) 93%

Best Non-Fiction Film: O.J.: Made in America (2016) 100%

Special Citation for a Film Awaiting American Distribution: Sieranevada (2016) 92%

Film Heritage Award: Kino Lorber’s 5-disc collection “Pioneers of African-American Cinema”
