Miramax will remain under Disney control, with or without the Weinsteins, Variety reports. Eisner told shareholders in Minneapolis, "The Walt Disney Co. will continue to make movies that are characterized as independent like films that are lower budget … we have it completely under control, and we are talking to Harvey and Bob (Weinstein) about what their relationship will be with Miramax going forward." The Weinsteins’ contract with Disney is up in September.
