Veteran screenwriter John Fusco has been hired by Fox 2000 to adapt Michelle Paver’s "Wolf Brother" into screenplay form. Book One of Paver’s "Chonicles of Darkness" series, "Wolf" is "set 6,000 years ago and follows a 12-year-old as he and his wolf companion try to save the world from evil forces."

The first novel was a huge bestseller overseas, and the second one ("Spirit Walker") is due to hit stores next month.

Mr. Fusco’s previous works include "Young Guns," "Thunderheart," and "Hidalgo."
