Takashi Miike‘s "One Missed Call" is just about ready for its own remake treatment. WB just signed Edward Burns and Shannyn Sossamon to star in the J-horror re-do, this one about a bunch of deadly cell-phone callls that are tormenting a group of young friends.
From Variety: "Ed Burns and Shannyn Sossamon have signed on to star in "One Missed Call" for Alcon Entertainment, Intermedia and Kadokawa Pictures USA. Warner Bros. Pictures is distributing.
Eric Valette is directing the English-language remake of a Japanese supernatural horror hit. Story revolves around a college student (Sossamon) whose friends begin receiving cell phone messages from the future in which they hear themselves being murdered. When she receives her own death message, the coed has three days to change her fate. Burns plays a detective."
