Warner Bros. closed out the second day of studio presentations with a banger, introducing Patton Oswalt as the panel’s host and previewing a slew of hotly anticipated titles with the star power to match on hand. But the first big announcement came in the form of a new label under the studio, called Clockwork, as well as its inaugural film, namely a new project from Oscar-winning Anora director Sean Baker titled Ti Amo! No further details were given, except that the film is scheduled for release in 2027.

After a sizzle reel showcasing a chunk of the studio’s slate in 2027, Tom Cruise and Alejandro González Iñárritu appeared on stage to a thunderous standing ovation. The pair were on hand to present their film Digger, due out on October 2, 2026. Iñárritu explained that he formed the idea for the film nine years ago, then reached out to Cruise two years later. After Cruise finished shooting Top Gun: Maverick, he rose his motorcycle out to meet Iñárritu and discuss the film. “This kind of movie is why I wanted to make movies,” he said, adding, “It took me 40 years to put on the boots of Digger Rockwell.”

The pair then debuted an exclusive first look at the film, a dark satire about a powerful man who sets out to prove he is humanity’s last hope by stopping the environmental disaster that he himself is responsible for. The footage reveals that Cruise’s Digger is a wealthy oil man whose company is responsible for a colossal methane leak with catastrophic consequences. There are shades of Les Grossman in Tropic Thunder in Cruise’s portrayal, and the film looks wild and hilarious.

New Line Cinema Debuts Evil Dead Burn Trailer and Mortal Kombat II Clip

Next up, it was New Line’s time to shine. They began by showing the first trailer for the next chapter of the Evil Dead franchise, Evil Dead Burn, which comes to theaters on July 24. In it, a family at home is greeted at their front door by a walking corpse with severed fingers and a car headrest embedded in her head. We briefly see her backstory before she removes the headrest and unleashes gory carnage on the family. Fans will be thrilled to know that another film, Evil Dead Wrath, is also already in development, scheduled to be released in 2028.

Evil Dead Burn was followed by a clip from the upcoming sequel Mortal Kombat II. The footage offers a glimpse of a fight between Karl Urban’s Johnny Cage and the mutant fighter Baraka, full of stunts, quips, and callbacks to the video games, including Johnny’s trademark, ahem, groin punch. Mortal Kombat II hits theaters on May 8, and it just so happens we got a brand new red-band trailer for it today as well.

Lastly, Patton Oswalt reappeared on stage, flanked by Thing 1 and Thing 3 from The Cat in the Hat, and prompted the audience to put on Thing wigs before they debuted a new trailer for the animated film, which opens on November 6.

DC Studios Shows Off Clayface and Supergirl

DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran took the stage next to cue up two big titles for this year, but he began by announcing that the Superman sequel Man of Tomorrow begins shooting next week. That film is due out on July 9, 2027, so here’s hoping the production goes smoothly.

After that, Safran gave us our first peek at the upcoming film Clayface in the form of a world premiere teaser, confirming the supervillain origin story is going full body-horror. The gritty clip reveals a man, played by Tom Rhys Harries, sitting in a hospital bed with his face covered in bandages, trying to remember what happened to him. We see glimpses of his past as an actor and the procedure that gave him his abilities, as well as plenty of shots of his horrible disfigurement and gruesome powers. Clayface opens in theaters on October 23.

The real star of DC’s slate was Supergirl, as director Craig Gillespie was joined on stage by stars Milly Alcock and Jason Momoa, the latter of whom rode in on his character Lobo’s Spacehog motorcycle, to hype the film. Gillespie revealed that nearly the entire film is set off-planet, and that Alcock learned five to six fake languages to play Kara Zor-El. Momoa talked about collecting Lobo comics as a kid, and asked who would win in a fight between Lobo and Aquaman, he said “they’d take one look at each other and have a few hundred beers together.” And Alcock, who sported a custom blue sweater emblazoned with the Superman crest housing the Chanel logo, got a bit sentimental, noting that her Supergirl would be “the first Supergirl that a lot of little girls will get to meet.”

The Trio then introduced an extended clip, which starts with Kara hopping on a space bus and deescalating a misunderstanding between her tagalong Ruthye (Eve Ridley) and another passenger before a trio of raiders appear. Underpowered because she’s been partying on a planet with a red sun, Kara is helpless to do anything, and the raiders eject her into space, only for a yellow sun to pop up from behind a planet and reenergize her. The clip ends as she begins to fight back, using her heat vision to counteract a giant laser the raiders have fired at her. The clip transitions into a teaser for the film, ending the presentation. Supergirl lands in theaters on June 26.

Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman Cast a Spell with Practical Magic 2

Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman kept the star power rolling as they emerged on stage to present Practical Magic 2. The pair were clearly having fun on stage, riffing and cracking jokes. Bullock even asked Kidman, “Why do we come here, Nicole?”, to which the latter responded, “We come to this place for magic.” (This is the reference, if you didn’t get it.) They acknowledged that fans “can’t let go” of the original, and that coming back to this world felt “oddly natural… like we haven’t aged a day.” They revealed that the house from the film was rebuilt entirely, and gave updates on their characters, with Bullock noting that Sally is single with two grown daughters and Gillian has a black cat. After a few more questions from Patton Oswalt, the pair then introduced a teaser for the film, depicting Bullock’s Sally passing her skills down to her daughters. Practical Magic 2 is set to open on September 11.

J.J. Abrams Debuts Teaser for The Great Beyond

J.J. Abrams took the stage next to introduce his upcoming sci-fi film The Great Beyond. The writer-director, who hasn’t helmed a film since 2019’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, acknowledged that he had a lot of franchise films under his belt, but that original movies are his passion, and he wanted to make this one big. On casting the film’s lead, Glen Powell, Abrams jokingly noted that he envisioned “a leading man who peaked in high school” and naturally thought of Powell. The film co-stars Jenna Ortega, Emma Mackey, and Samuel L. Jackson, whom Abrams said “you’ve never seen… in a role like this.” Abrams then cued up the first teaser for the film, which didn’t do much to dispel the mystery surrounding its plot, but, like its title, hinted at otherworldly and possibly supernatural events. The Great Beyond opens on November 13.

Dune: Part Three Ends the Day with a Bang

Dune: Part Three finished off the presentations in epic style, beginning with an ominous procession of Fremen chanting and walking up to the main stage through the aisles. Director Denis Villeneuve and stars Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, and Jason Momoa (who took some time to change clothes after the Supergirl presentation) then took the stage to talk about the film.

Villeneuve explained that he spent a decade living in Dune, and that he wanted to craft a new cinematic experience with each film. “I didn’t want to walk in my own footsteps. I wanted to do something new,” he said, admitting that he made the first two films for himself, but “I made [Dune: Part Three] for the fans.”

Based on the Frank Herbert novel Dune Messiah, the film is set 17 years after Dune: Part Two, with Chalamet’s Paul Atreides having conquered the universe and now reckoning with the consequences of his actions. Villeneuve called the film a redemption story, noting that the love between Paul and Zendaya’s Chani is the heartbeat of the movie.

Then, as a special treat for those in attendance, they debuted the first seven minutes of the film, depicting a battle between Fremen, led by Javier Bardem’s Stilgar, against an unidentified enemy on a foreign planet. It begins to rain, which amazes the Fremen, before they are met with massive gunfire and a giant tower that emerges from the ground and begins massacring the Fremen army. The impressive footage wowed the audience and drove anticipation for the film through the roof. Dune: Part Three arrives in theaters on December 18.

Day 2 – GKIDS, NEON

GKIDS Offers First Look at Godzilla Minus Zero

Tuesday kicked off with a big presentation from GKIDS and NEON, with the former leading the way with Godzilla Minus Zero. Director Takashi Yamazaki took the stage with an interpreter to hype the film, which he confirmed will be a direct sequel to Godzilila Minus One and continue to follow the central Shikishima family. He explained that the film will “push screens and audiences to their limits,” as an “even deeper despair will descend upon” the family.

Yamazaki then cued up some behind-the-scenes footage, beginning with imagery from the first film, then moving on to reveal shots of the huge sets and the IMAX cameras on set. The footage was followed immediately by a teaser for Minus Zero, which states that two years have passed sine the first film and culminates in a shot of Godzilla emerging from the water and walking pas the Statue of Liberty towards New York City. Cue the audience going wild. Godzilla Mins Zero lands in theaters on November 6, 2026.ag and facing down his Uncle Aaron and the Earth-42 Miles, aka The Prowler. The two Miles banter back and forth before our Miles, taking a page from the first film, quips, “Don’t watch the mouth, watch the hands,” electrifies the room to escape. We get glimpses of Gwen, Spider-Ham, and some new animation styles, because what is a Spider-Verse movie without stunning animation? Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is slated to open on June 18, 2027.

NEON was also on had to present their slate of films, which leaned heavy on horror and thrillers. The first of those was Hokum, starring Adam Scott as a man who travels to Scotland to scatter his parents’ ashes and discovers that his rental accommodation might be haunted. Scott was on hand to talk about the film, revealing he “discovered at a young age that getting the sh– scared out of me was irresistible.” He said the film features plenty of scares, but hits a third rail that makes director Damien McCarthy special. Hokum arrives in theaters on May 1, 2026.

Hokum was followed by Boots Riley’s I Love Boosters, which was presented by Riley himself and star LaKeith Stanfield. Riley explained that he was first introduced to the world of fashion and “booster” culture when he wrote his 2006 song “I Love Boosters.” The pair then debuted a new trailer for the film, which debuted to strong reviews earlier this year at South by Southwest and is set to open in theaters on May 22, 2026.

The NEON presentation included three more previews, beginning with Australian horror film Leviticus, coming June 19, 2026, which centers on two boys whose budding romance is frowned upon by the local Christian community and leads to a conversion ritual that goes horribly awry. That was followed by a sneak peek at A Place in Hell, a Christmas Day release that stars Daisy Edgar-Jones and Michelle Williams in a thriller about a feud between a criminal defense attorney and the younger woman who replaces her. Lastly, we also got our first look at Hope, Korean director Na Hong-jin’s (The Chaser, The Wailing) English-language debut, with Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander starring alongside Squid Game’s Jung Ho-yeon in an alien invasion story.
