The American Film Institute announced the top 10 movies and TV Shows for 2015 on December 16. Read through for the the full list of AFI’s favorites.

Top 10 Movies

Top 10 TV Shows

  • DanOne

Have they seen Revenant or Hateful Eight? Not that I have I’m just wondering.

    • Jason Becker

Maybe not released in time to be screened for possible inclusion on list?

    • Edog

Probably. They haven’t been getting the raves that I would like even though both are supposed to be very good films.

    • politicaldefiance

The Revenant, The Hateful Eight and Joy were all seen by the voting committee. They just didn’t make the cut.

  • Michael P

The Leftovers should definitely be on here before Empire

    • AntRodrigues

Even though Empire has lost its edge in my opinion… Leftovers lost me after a few episodes…. Maybe I will give it another chance..

Funfact Empire can and must be considered a 2015 show cause it has only been aired in 2015, first season started in January

  • Jared

Wish Sicario had been nominated but at least they choose a very diverse set of films.

  • Pinkk

    No Fast 7?

    • Clark

That wouldn’t be in my top 10, probably top 15 though.

      • Pinkk

Just seemed better than some of those listed.

  • 9No

No Leftovers in the top 10 tv shows list AND Bridge of Spies as a top 10 movie? I disagree with both lists! 🙂

  • Mark

I suggest a Blight O’ Meter to rid bad shows of their android caller domains. If that doesn’t help, a Toxic Ash and Pollutant barrier to prevent fallout raids from The Cloud…

  • Rodycaz

No Hateful 8? They’re so gonna regret that…

  • godzi!!a

Three sci-fi movies in the top ten? That’s fracking awesome. And we all know Ex Machina was number 11, right?

  • Magnus Hanesand

I’d put Jessica Jones on the list, probably the best series I’ve seen this year

  • aNYagenda

A bunch of lib agenda junk.

What was so great about fury road?
    The stunts?
    The plot?

What I find interesting and a bit telling is white liberals so in love with straight out of compton/gangsta rap.

Either they’re oblivious to the fact that gangsta rap was the soundtrack to a national wave of gang violence in the early 90’s, a lot of people got killed.
Which I wouldn’t put past navel gazing liberals.

Or they know it, and they encourage it.
And they’ve been encouraging and instigating violence for 50 years.

    • James K. Nelson

      1. Mad Max was the best piece of *film-making* this year. The internet is full of terrific essays expanding upon this, go read if you want to know what’s so great about it.
      2. You say nothing at all about whether Straight Outta Compton is a good movie or not. Have you seen it?

  • Alexandro

Where the fuck is Brooklyn when in fact, in exception for Inside Out, has the highest percent of fresh compare to all of them.
