Abrams Says "Kirk Will Appear" in New "Trek" Flick

Up until now we’ve just speculated about what’ll be in J.J. Abrams‘ upcoming "Star Trek" movie, but the director has divulged one vague little thing that’s confirmed some earlier reports: "James T. Kirk appears in the movie."

Whether or not this means the "young Enterprise" concept is what we’re in for remains to be seen, but "James T. Kirk appears in the movie" is a pretty clear statement. Mr. Abrams followed the tidbit with "The respect we all have for Star Trek canon – and for a brand-new audience – is massive. The script is done. We’re now starting pre-prep, and we can’t wait to start shooting! Many more details to follow!"

So there you have it. Some form of Captain Kirk will show up in the eleventh "Star Trek" movie. (Lots) more information as it becomes available.
