HBO’s Watchmen dominated with 26 total nominations when the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards nominations were announced on Tuesday. Saturday Night Live’s Leslie Jones hosted the announcements with an assist from Laverne Cox, Josh Gad, and Tatiana Maslany.
The masked vigilante tale was followed by The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (20), Ozark (18), Succession (18), and, with 15 each, The Mandalorian, Schitt’s Creek, and Saturday Night Live.
Netflix led nominations with 160, which beat HBO’s 2019 record of 137 nominations. HBO followed with 107, while NBC was third with 47.
