After 13 years of dominating the gaming world, Minecraft is finally making its way to the big screen! The game that’s known for its endless creativity and pixelated worlds is being brought to life in A Minecraft Movie, hitting theaters April 4, 2025.
Whether you’ve been a Minecraft player for years or you’re new to the world of blocks, the movie promises an adventure for everyone. Audiences will follow a group of unlikely heroes — Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison (Jason Momoa), Henry (Sebastian Eugene Hansen), Natalie (Emma Myers), and Dawn (Danielle Brooks) — who get sucked into a mysterious portal and find themselves in the Overworld, a strange and colorful land made entirely of blocks. To get back home, they’ll need to learn how to survive and thrive in this new world — all while facing off against dangers like Piglins, Zombies, and more.
They’ll also get some help from Steve (Jack Black), an expert crafter who guides them through the challenges ahead. Along the way, they’ll discover the power of creativity and how it can help them overcome challenges — both in Minecraft and in their own lives.
