The Weinstein brothers may be on the outs with the Mouse, according to Variety. In its annual Securities and Exchange Commission filing, Disney said it does not expect Miramax to continue at the same level beyond Sept. 30, 2005, the date that Miramax and Disney’s contract is due to expire. Miramax and Dimension, run by Harvey and Bob Weinstein, respectively, argue that they have been profitable, disputing Disney’s claim that the companies have lost money. The filing states that Disney and the Weinsteins are still in negotiations, and that a number of upcoming projects are part of that discussion.
