August is here — bringing with it the dog days of summer, the impending return of school, and, on the 31st, Rob Zombie‘s Halloween reboot. How better to whet moviegoers’ appetites than with a new trailer?
We should warn you going in that it’s rather long — over two minutes, in fact — but since pretty much everybody knows the story of the homicidal masked nutball known as Michael Myers, it’s difficult to seriously complain about the trailer giving too much away. What’s most important here is whether or not it makes the movie look scary, and…well…it kinda does. Zombie’s previous films (and albums, really) have emphasized shock value over real horror, but everything that’s surfaced in connection with Halloween — with the possible exception of that somewhat goofy poster — bodes well for the planned trilogy.
