Talk to any of the lead actors from "Sex and the City" and they are evasive about the movie plans. It’s such a hot property, nobody wants to jinx it or spill any news. But Mario Cantone was happy to announce that he’s reserved time in his schedule to reprise his role of Anthony Marantino.
"Hopefully the Sex and the City movie is going to happen this fall," he said. "If it does, I’m in it which would be nice so it better get done. They’ve called me about my availability, yeah, but nothing’s negotiated with myself. I don’t know if any of the girls are negotiated. All I know is it better get done because I want to do it."
A longtime friend of series creator Michael Patrick King, the old pal assured him a major role in the film. "I for surely know that I’m in it a good amount so that’s exciting to know. He goes, ‘What do you think, I’m stupid? I need the laughs.’ That’s very funny. Michael Patrick King was the creative force behind that show, he’s going to be writing and directing the movie, I know him for 24 years. We started doing standup together in New York at the improv. He was always very brilliant. It’s exciting. I hope it happens. With him at the helm, it should be a damn good movie.”
