The ever-popular social networking site MySpace UK has announced that its "MyMovie MashUp" project, started earlier in the year, has chosen its three shortlisted directors.
The competition, which promises a budget of one million pounds to MySpace users recruited to make a feature film, started in February with the search for a director. The final three have been selected from a field of almost 1,000 entries and have been chosen by an industry panel including actor Sienna Miller and directors Kevin Macdonald, Nick Love and Michael Caton-Jones.
The finalists are Tom Harper, 27, who directed the short film "Cubs", Mat Kirkby, 32, who delivered short "Hard To Swallow", and Vito Rocco, 35, who made the short "Goodbye Cruel World". The short films are available to view on the MyMovie MashUp page here.
And now the website is asking its community to vote on the finalists. The voting period ends on July 9th and the final director will be chosen on July 12th. Once a director is chosen, community members will be asked for their help in choosing a script, crew and a cast. Click here to vote.
