Apparently there was some goofy rumor floating around this past weekend: Word was that new Bond Daniel Craig would have a role in J.J. Abrams‘ upcoming "Star Trek" movie. I don’t believe a word of it. In more believable news, William Shatner has even MORE to say about his involvement in the new "Trek" entry.
According to IGN and Dark Horizons, William Shatner seems pretty confident that Abrams’ new "Star Trek" movie will contain a spot for not only himself, but for good old Leonard Nimoy as well. But don’t mistake this for a quick paycheck or a grab at the spotlight. Shatner says "In order to entice Leonard and myself into the movie, it has to be meaningful in some way, so I don’t know what they’re gonna do."
If I were Shatner I’d just let it go already. Younger "Trek" fans aren’t all that interested in Kirk and Spock, plus the guy’s been doing some pretty amusing work on "Boston Legal" these days.
