New Line Cinema plans to adapt Paulo Coelho’s racy novel "Eleven Minutes" into a feature film, says Variety … and let’s just say it’s not something for the kiddies.
"New Line and Hollywood Gang Prods. have gotten into bed on a feature adaptation of "Eleven Minutes," the sex-laced bestseller by Brazilian author Paulo Coelho.
The book’s title refers to the duration of a sexual act and the novel is about the sexual awakening of a Brazilian woman who heads to Geneva with visions of being a dancer. By the time she returns home, she is hardened and cynical after a stint as a high-priced call girl.
Since being published in 2003, "Eleven Minutes" sold more than 5.5 million copies in 40 languages."
