This month's top picks include a new Spielberg flick, Pixar's latest, a DC superhero debut, and more.

TAGGED AS:

As the summer movie season heats up, June offers a great mix of escapist fantasies, sci-fi thrillers, raucous comedies, family films, and more. The big tentpoles that were missing from May finally get going this month, so there’s a lot to look forward to.

With that in mind, we gathered the most noteworthy movies hitting theaters (and streaming) in June and asked which ones you were most interested in seeing. Read on for the 5 Most Anticipated Movies of June.

1. Disclosure Day

Release Date: June 12, 2026

Coming in first by a fairly wide margin is Steven Spielberg’s return to the sci-fi alien invasion genre, Disclosure Day. Led by a cast that includes Emily Blunt, Colin Firth, Josh O’Connor, and Colman Domingo, the film centers on a whistleblower’s efforts to reveal secret information regarding extraterrestrials to the public. Considering the genre and the filmmaker behind it, it’s no surprise it led the pack.

2. Toy Story 5

Release Date: June 19, 2026

Woody, Buzz, and the gang are back in Toy Story 5, as the franchise’s classic characters unite to keep young Bonnie from becoming too obsessed with her new tablet, Lilypad. While Pixar isn’t the box office juggernaut it once was, fans who have a deep nostalgic connection to this series will always turn up to see what new adventures it can offer.

3. Supergirl

Release Date: June 26, 2026

Following her scene-stealing cameo appearance in last year’s Superman, Milly Alcock’s Supergirl is finally set to land in theaters, and there are plenty of folks looking forward to seeing what James Gunn’s rebooted DC Universe does with the character. The self-contained story finds Kara Zor-El celebrating her 23rd birthday by partying before a chance encounter leads her on a path of revenge.

4. Masters of the Universe

Release Date: June 5, 2026

Who knew He-Man and his friends would still be this popular in 2026? Nicholas Galitzine takes up the Sword of Power as Prince Adam aka He-Man in this reboot of Masters of the Universe, based on the 1980s toy line and directed by Travis Knight (Kubo and the Two Strings, Bumblebee). The franchise has existed in some form or another for decades, but this will be the biggest iteration of the character in live-action since the 1987 film starring Dolph Lundgren.

5. The Death of Robin Hood

Release Date: June 19, 2026

For those who aren’t interested in the battle between live toys and a kid’s iPad, there’s always The Death of Robin Hood. Hugh Jackman stars as the outlaw of legend, who suffers a mortal injury in battle and encounters a mysterious woman who offers to hear his story. It’s not your typical blockbuster fare, but it offers an interesting new spin on the Robin Hood mythology (albeit based on a 17th-century ballad), and it just narrowly defeated Scary Movie in our poll.
