No sooner has filming resumed on director Tim Burton’s "Sweeney Todd" than the first photos of Johnny Depp dressed up as the musically gifted barber/murderer have surfaced, courtesy of renowned blogger and photo doodler Perez Hilton.
The shots aren’t award-winning, but given that they appear to have been taken on the sly, from a distance, that’s to be expected; perhaps unsurprisingly, Burton and Depp’s Sweeney Todd looks a little like (in Hilton’s words) "a grown-up Edward Scissorhands."
Burton’s "Sweeney Todd," the latest adaptation of Stephen Sondheim’s popular musical, co-stars Helena Bonham-Carter, Alan Rickman, and Sacha Baron Cohen, and is scheduled for a December 21 release.
