His character may have gone to a watery grave in last season’s Lost finale, but don’t shed any tears for Dominic Monaghan — the Lord of the Rings star has lined up his next film project.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Monaghan has signed on for the lead role in Edna McCallion’s Pet, a “psychological thriller” being prepped by MGM. From the article:
Monaghan will play Seth, a man who bumps into his old high school crush and quickly becomes obsessed with her. He takes her captive underneath the animal shelter where he works but soon suspects that his old flame is not who she seems to be.
Perfect casting, eh? Not many actors are able to combine a “nice guy” vibe with a “possibly pulls the wings off flies while muttering to himself” vibe, but Monaghan is one of them. No word on who’ll be playing the object of his affections, but the Reporter says Pet is “set to begin shooting in the next few months.”
