Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures
That is awesome. I loved The Big Short. It is an intelligent, emotionaly resonant, and darkly sardonic film about the economic collapse. It actually has substance and has many complex layers to it. The acting and editing was top-notch. It had a sharp screenplay. It made me laugh, cry, and even get angry.

It’s The Big Short’s to lose now. The PGA is one of more accurate precursors because it’s voters contain actual Academy members.

Anomalisa deserves best animated film, and a nomination for best picture — neither of these things will happen.

I want Inside Out to win 😀 Haven’t seen Anomalisa yet though..

Spotlight was way better and deserves the Oscar.

I personally thought The Big Short was a far superior film. The acting was far more extraordinary in my opinion. The entire scope and tone of the film was far more passionate.
The critics love Spotlight more because it glorifies journalism. I have watched a lot of tv specials and investigative specials on the subject of child abuse within The Catholic Church.
I have watched episodes of Law and Order: SVU that were more compelling that Spotlight. Spotlight doesn’t strike new ground at all. I would recommend watching Doubt, Deliver Us From Evil, The Boys of St. Vincent, Hand of God, and Twist of Faith. Compare those films and documentaries to Spotlight. I know there are a lot more examples. There have been a lot of crime series’ on tv that have dealt with this subject matter.

Wasn’t expecting that.

Hahahaha this year’s award season is just getting more interesting! Who will win the Oscar? Spotlight? Mad Max? The Revenant? And now another possible contender… The Big Short?
