Schrader to Resurrect "Adam"

Variety reports that writer/director Paul Schrader will helm the Holocaust drama "Adam Resurrected," from a screenplay by Noah Stollman, beginning next summer in Germany, Israel, and Romania.

""Adam Resurrected," based on Yoram Kaniuk’s novel, is about a Jewish circus entertainer who is kept alive by the Nazis to entertain Jews as they march to their deaths. He ends up in an asylum for Holocaust survivors, fighting to survive the madness around him."

Any resemblance to the infamous "hidden" Jerry Lewis movie "The Day the Clown Cried" is surely coincidental.
