Get Ready for Another Dose of "Basic Instinct"

by | April 19, 2005 | Comments

You’ve heard it mentioned for years, but production is (finally) about to get underway on "Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction." A follow-up to Paul Verhoeven‘s sexual thriller from 1992, "BI2" will be directed by Michael Caton-Jones ("Doc Hollywood," "This Boy’s Life") from a screenplay by Leora Barish ("Desperately Seeking Susan") and Henry Bean ("Internal Affairs"). Sharon Stone is indeed returning for a second go-round as the venomous Catherine Trammell, and she’ll be joined by actors David Thewlis ("The Big Lebowski"), Charlotte Rampling ("Swimming Pool"), and David Morrissey ("Captain Corelli’s Mandolin"). Production on "Basic Instinct 2" gets underway this week in London.
