HIGHLIGHTS

Description: Tom Hanks portrays Mister Rogers in A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, a timely story of kindness triumphing over cynicism, based on the true story of a real-life friendship between Fred Rogers and journalist Tom Junod. After a jaded magazine writer (Emmy winner Matthew Rhys) is assigned a profile of Fred Rogers, he overcomes his skepticism, learning about empathy, kindness, and decency from America’s most beloved neighbor.

Critics Consensus: Much like the beloved TV personality that inspired it, A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood offers a powerfully affecting message about acceptance and understanding.

Premiere Date: Monday, June 1, 2020

Shirley (2020)

88%

Description: Renowned horror writer Shirley Jackson (Elisabeth Moss) is on the precipice of writing her masterpiece when the arrival of newlyweds upends her meticulous routine and heightens tensions in her already tempestuous relationship with her philandering husband (Michael Stuhlbarg as Stanley Hyman). The middle-aged couple, prone to ruthless barbs and copious afternoon cocktails, begins to toy mercilessly with the naïve young couple at their door. Odessa Young and Logan Lerman appear as Rose and Fred Nemser.

Premiere Date: Friday, June 5, 2020

Child's Play (2019)

63%

Description: A contemporary re-imagining of the 1988 horror classic, Child’s Play follows Karen (Aubrey Plaza), a single mother who gifts her son Andy (Gabriel Bateman) a Buddi doll, unaware of its more sinister nature.

Critics Consensus: Child’s Play updates an ’80s horror icon for the Internet of Things era, with predictably gruesome – and generally entertaining – results.

Premiere Date: Friday, June 12, 2020

Description: Set in the world of the 2018 film Love, Simon, which was inspired by Becky Albertalli’s acclaimed novel Simon Vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda, the series follows Victor (Michael Cimino), a new student at Creekwood High School on his own journey of self-discovery, facing challenges at home, adjusting to a new city, and struggling with his sexual orientation. When it all seems too much, he reaches out to Simon to help him navigate the ups and downs of high school.

Premiere Date: Friday, June 19, 2020
