It’s got a script, a director, and a star — and now, reports TheXverse, the X-Men spinoff Wolverine is prepping for production.

It’s a brief item — as you’d expect, really, since all there is to say is “they’re getting ready to start filming” — but fans who have waited this long for a full-on Wolverine movie are interested in any details they can get, so here goes: An “inside source” has informed the site that the film is still on target for a November start, and that it’ll be shooting in Australia. (Sydney, to be precise.)

Wolverine, which stars Hugh Jackman in a reprise of his role from the X-Men films, will be directed by Gavin Hood (Rendition) from a script by David Benioff (The Kite Runner), and is slated for a 2008 release.
