Walden Media to Take a Trip to the "Dark" Side

The Hollywood Reporter brings news of another epic series of novels that are about to get the big-screen treatment. Susan Cooper’s "The Dark is Rising Sequence" will go in front of the cameras thanks to Walden Media ("Holes"), although, for some reason, they seem to be starting with the second book first: "’The Dark is Rising’ tells the story of a boy…

…whose everyday life is turned upside down when he learns that he is the last of the Old Ones, a group of immortal warriors who have dedicated their lives to fighting the forces known as "the Dark." No word on any cast or crew members just yet, but we can expect these flicks to most likely be Disney releases.
