Harry’s still got the magic. With over $40 million in domestic earnings, the latest instalment of J.K. Rowling’s franchise, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, topped the list of biggest box-office hits in Australia for 2009

Half-Blood Prince lead the robot-clashing sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, James Cameron’s 3-D sci-fi epic Avatar and the sparkly vampires of New Moon. Of course, Avatar‘s $38-plus million gross was made in the final two weeks of the year; the film has now grossed more than $75 million and is the highest-earner of all time domestically.
