Stephen Chow‘s "Kung Fu Hustle" is breaking box office records across Asia, Variety reports. On its Dec. 24th opening day in Singapore, "Hustle" set the record as having the biggest opening-day B.O. for a Chinese movie at $250,000, and made more in its opening weekend than Chow’s previous effort "Shaolin Soccer" made in its entire run at more than $1M. It also broke the opening-day B.O. record for Hong Kong and Taiwan, with respective takes of $67,000 and $300,000.

"Kung Fu Hustle" stars Stephen Chow as a small-time hustler who dreams of making it as a member of the notorious Axe Gang. A hit at the Toronto Film Festival, "Kung Fu Hustle" will be distributed in North America by Sony Pictures Classics with a release date on March 25.
