New Distributor Makes a "Fragile" Purchase

You might not be familiar with the name "Bauer Martinez" just yet, but if you’re a frequent moviegoer, you’ll know it soon enough. Bauer Martinez Distribution is a brand new outfit that aims to give films "medium-wide" release patterns — and hopefully score a few hits. Oh, and did I mention they bought a horror movie that stars Calista Flockhart? Well, they did.

From "Darkness" director Jaume Balaguero comes "Fragile," an allegedly twisted little horror thriller that takes place in a ramshackle children’s hospital. (The hospital is ramshackle, not the kids. They’re just ill.)

The English-language chiller was shot in Spain by the Filmax gang, the folks who brought us "Beyond Re-Animator," "Rottweiler," and "The Machinist." "Fragile" stars Calista Flockhart, Richard Roxburgh, Gemma Jones, and Colin McFarlane.

Also on the Bauer Martinez slate is the David Ayer‘s "Harsh Times," which stars Christian Bale and (editorial comment warning) is a darn good movie, and "The Moguls," starring Jeff Bridges and approximately 16 other actors you know and like. (OK, fine: Tim Blake Nelson, Ted Danson, William Fichtner, Joe Pantoliano, Lauren Graham, Isaiah Washington, Steven Weber, Judy Greer, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Patrick Fugit, John Hawkes, Tom Bower, Elden Hensen, Brad Garrett, Eileen Brennan, Valerie Perrine, and Glenne Headly.)
