It looks like "Flightplan" has more to worry about than it’s 34 percent Rotten score on the Tomatometer — miffed airline flight crews across the nation are calling for its boycott. Last week’s #1 box office draw, starring Jodie Foster as a frantic mom searching for her missing daughter on a huge jet-liner mid-flight, is being targeted by three different organizations representing offended flight attendants who object to the negative portrayals of flight workers in the film. The perception of flight attendants in "Flightplan" as ‘rude, unhelpful, and uncaring‘ undermines the professional atmosphere of trust and service that airlines try to convey, argue representatives of the over 80,000 combined workers behind the protest. A spokesperson for one of the groups, the Association of Flight Attendants, explains that the poor treatment in "Flightplan" is just the final straw in a long trend of negative cinematic representation, citing a 75 year-long persecution in the media eye.
