Star Trek fans, meet your new Captain Christopher Pike!

The Hollywood Reporter shares the news that Bruce Greenwood has been chosen to play Pike — the character Trek fans know as the first captain of the Starship Enterprise — in the J.J. Abrams-directed Star Trek XI.

While perhaps not a household name, the 51-year-old Greenwood has compiled a long list of credits during his decades in show business, including roles on television (St. Elsewhere, Knots Landing) and in film (Thirteen Days, The Malibu Bikini Shop).
