Is Will Turner, Orlando Bloom‘s character in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" series, marked for death? According to WENN (via Cinescape), the script for the fourth "Pirates" movie is in the works, and it may sanction the demise of Jack Sparrow’s young sidekick.

A Disney insider told the British tabloid The Daily Star Sunday, "The script for the fourth "Pirates" movie is being worked on and all the finances are in place but it was decided Bloom’s character and a number of minor roles were not necessary to ensure it would be yet another box office smash for Disney."

"Prates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest," which stars Johnny Depp, Keira Knightly, and Bloom, has grossed $421M and is the highest grossing film of the year so far; the third installment of the series, subtitled "At World’s End," is scheduled for release on May 25, 2007.
