What’s it about? A mysterious adversary perpetrates an act of intergalactic terrorism, so it’s up to the crew of the Enterprise to hunt him down before he destroys the Starfleet.

Who’s it for? It’s rated PG-13 “for intense sequences of sci-fi action and violence.” There are some loud explosions, a few fistfights, and some mild cursing, but it should be safe for older middle schoolers.

Is it any good? Critics say Star Trek Into Darkness isn’t quite as thrilling as its predecessor, but it’s still an action-packed popcorn flick with witty dialogue and enough references to Trek lore to please diehards.
